Omi Reader
Terms of Use
Effective 9 September 2026 · Published by Udara Labs Limited
1 The agreement
These terms are between you and Udara Labs Limited and govern your use of Omi Reader. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you don't, don't use the app.
2 Licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Omi Reader on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, or attempt to derive its source code except where the law expressly permits it.
3 Content you read
Omi Reader reads content you provide to it. You are responsible for having the right to do so, and for complying with the terms of the sites and services the content comes from.
The app does not circumvent paywalls, access controls or digital rights management. Its built-in browser can read pages you are already signed in to, in the same way your own browser can; it does not obtain access you don't already have.
We don't claim any ownership of what you read, and we don't retain it beyond what sections 5 and 9 of the Privacy Policy describe.
4 Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use the app or its voice service other than through the app itself — automated, scripted or bulk access is not permitted;
- resell, redistribute or make a service out of the audio it produces;
- use it to produce audio that is unlawful, or that impersonates a real person in a way intended to deceive;
- attempt to bypass allowances, rate limits or subscription checks, or probe our infrastructure for weaknesses without our written permission.
We may apply fair-use limits to the hosted voice service, and may suspend access that is damaging the service for others. We'll be proportionate about it.
5 Subscriptions
Omi Unlimited is an auto-renewing subscription offered on a monthly or yearly term. The price, term and any introductory offer are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- Payment is taken by Apple when you confirm the purchase.
- It renews automatically at the end of each term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that term ends.
- Cancel any time in the App Store subscription settings on your device, or through the link in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't end the term you've paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- We may change the price. Apple will notify you and ask you to agree before a higher price is charged.
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service; we can't issue them ourselves. Free features remain free if you cancel.
6 Your own provider key
If you choose to use your own OpenAI, Azure or ElevenLabs key, your agreement for that service is with them. You pay them directly, at their rates, and their terms apply to that use. We don't charge for this, don't take a share, and aren't responsible for their availability, pricing or output.
Keep your key to yourself: it is stored in your device's Keychain, and anyone with your unlocked device can use it.
7 Availability
We aim to keep the hosted voice service running but don't promise it will be uninterrupted. Features may change, and we may discontinue the hosted service. If we withdraw a paid feature, we'll give reasonable notice and, where you've paid for a term you can no longer use, arrange a refund of the unused part through Apple.
Voices installed on your device keep working regardless, including offline.
8 Disclaimers
Omi Reader is provided as-is. Text-to-speech is imperfect: it mispronounces names, misreads abbreviations and can skip or garble text, particularly in PDFs where the underlying text is poorly encoded. Article extraction may miss or reorder parts of a page.
Don't rely on what the app reads aloud where accuracy matters — for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical material, read the original. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties not expressly given here. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.
9 Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nor does this clause limit rights you have as a consumer that the law does not allow us to restrict — so where you have paid us nothing, the limit above does not operate to leave you without a remedy the law gives you.
10 Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Omi Reader or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product liability, any failure to conform to a legal requirement, or claims under consumer protection or privacy law. Apple is not responsible for investigating or resolving third-party claims that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and are not on any US Government restricted-party list.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
11 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in the country where you live.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
